Rentals Superintendent

Introduction

Africa’s most successful and largest manufacturer and supplier of prefab and modular buildings for rent or sale is looking for a Rentals Superintendent with sound electrical knowledge to join their successful team in the Western Cape.

Duties & Responsibilities

Refurbishment, delivery & collection

• Manage rentals maintenance department in line with branch objectives
• Sign off and issue COC’s for all Rentals Cabins
• Manage budget spend, material ordering and tool allocations
• Coordinate logistics
• Ensure that the relevant Rentals building are refurbished within budget parameters
• Plan the Rentals refurb work and ensure that a refurb plan within a minimum window of two weeks is prepared and circulated on a weekly basis
• Plan and circulate the agreed refurb plan relating to any long term / project requirements as and when required
• Ensure that all buildings are handed over to the Fleet Controller at agreed time and in correct condition
• Execute the refurb plan, record, monitor and process the operational requirements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within your area of responsibility
• Plan, communicate and execute the warranty plan within the agreed time and cost objective

Assets, stock, and stock integrity

• Ensure that the stores function is being controlled and that stock levels are minimised, yet an uninterrupted supply of material is available
• Ensure that outstanding orders are expedited and that any potential problems are raised well in advance
• Manage and report on redundant stock and corrective action
• Stock integrity on the ACCPAC system
• Daily, monthly, and quarterly stock counts and reporting
• Ensure that the daily grading of all returns is done, and the ERP system is updated accordingly

Administration

• Ensure compliance to all company policies and procedures
• Complete and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on a timely and accurate basis
• Ensure that all staff have been trained and signed off all operating instructions
• Compliance to all reasonable instructions

Occupational Health & Safety

• Ensure that housekeeping standards are always maintained
• Ensure compliance to all statutory regulations
• Ensure compliance to all organisational Health and Safety code of conduct
• Carry out inspections to ensure that material is stacked and handled correctly and safely
• Record and control issues and ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment
• Ensure daily / monthly departmental vehicles, tools and safety inspections

Supervise KPA’s of Subordinates

• Ensure that all subordinates have the skills and knowledge to carry out their functions efficiently and effectively
• Ensure positive contributions to department’s performance by setting of objectives, coaching, counselling, and performance monitoring
• Maintain discipline according to the Company’s Code of Conduct
• Monitor and control time keeping, attendance and overtime

Desired Experience & Qualification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

• Grade 12
• Must have valid driver’s license (Minimum code 8)
• Electrical qualification
• Electrical Wireman’s License
• Operation Management qualification (advantageous)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• 3 Years management / co-ordination of teams
• 3 Years electrical installation
• COC testing and sign – off experience
• 2 Years general maintenance (Plumbing, Carpentry, painting) experience
