Job Summary
A driven and results-oriented Business Development Representative who must play a key role in expanding the business’ footprint within Africa.
This position must promote the core temporary works engineering services while fostering collaboration with cross-functional sister companies within the Group to create a comprehensive service offering to customers.
The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of the relevant industries, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for building lasting relationships.
Duties & Responsibilities
Role and Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and partnerships for temporary works (scaffolding) engineering services.
- Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activity.
- Contribute to developing and implementing targeted marketing campaigns to generate leads for services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients in our industries.
- Collaborate with other divisions within the group to identify opportunities to bundle our services with their offerings.
- Develop and present compelling proposals highlighting our combined services’ value proposition.
Sales
- Qualify leads and convert them into paying customers for temporary works engineering projects.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to achieve favourable terms.
- Manage and maintain a strong sales pipeline to ensure a consistent flow of new business.
- Prepare and deliver impactful presentations to clients, showcasing our expertise and capabilities.
- Exceed assigned sales targets and contribute to the company’s overall growth.
Marketing
- Assist in marketing initiatives, developing and implementing marketing initiatives to promote our core services and collaborative offerings.
- Attend industry events and trade shows to network, generate leads, and promote our services.
- Research and identify new marketing channels and tools to optimise our outreach strategy.
Other Relevant Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate customer relationship management (CRM) records and reports.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including engineering, projects, and management.
- Travel throughout Africa to meet with customers and attend industry events.
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices for temporary works engineering.
- Assist with any senior management-related tasks (as required).
- Assist with streamlining processes, including implementing relevant software tools to streamline and improve efficiency.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (Advantage).
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within the construction industry. With good knowledge of Scaffolding and Formwork solutions.
- Strong understanding of temporary works engineering principles and applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented, with a track record of exceeding targets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Valid South African driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Package & Remuneration
