Introduction
Large, well established airconditioner wholesaler and exporter is looking to employ a Demand Planner.
The individual in this position will play a critical role in optimizing the supply chain to meet customer demand and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
The position will initially be based in Honeydew but will be moving to the offices in Northriding.
Duties & Responsibilities
Demand Forecasting:
- Develop and implement robust demand forecasting strategies to optimize inventory levels and ensure product availability.
- Analyse historical sales data, market trends, and customer behaviour to generate accurate demand forecasts.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to gather relevant information for demand planning.
- Regularly review and adjust forecasting models based on changing market conditions and business priorities.
- Monitor and report on forecast accuracy, identifying and addressing any deviations.
Procurement:
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from supplier selection to delivery, to meet demand requirements.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms, including pricing, quality, and delivery schedules in collaboration with sales and marketing.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks related to the supply chain, such as disruptions or shortages.
- Implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce carrying costs, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, production, and finance teams.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to address issues, assess performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on key performance indicators related to demand forecasting and procurement.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in demand forecasting and procurement.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall business operations.
Supervision and Leadership:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the supply chain team.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Experience:
- Proven experience of 5-10 years in demand forecasting and procurement within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and inventory management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data trends and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Efficiency in relevant software and tools for demand forecasting and procurement.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and strategic thinking.
