Depot Manager

Introduction

A leading South African manufacturer and marketer of Traditional Sorghum Beer and alcoholic beverages  is looking for Depot Managers to join their successful team in any of the following regions:

Devland, Ga Rankuwa, Kwa Thema, Mogale; Sondela, Sedibeng, Mogwase, Siyabuswa, Thlabane.

Duties & Responsibilities

Role Purpose

• To oversee and manage the depot operation ensuring that sales are optimized, including the maintenance of business relationships with key customers and retailers
• Responsible for depot stock movement, receiving, storing, issuing of stock in line with Company policies and procedures
• Advise the depot on stock availability to enable appropriate ordering patterns
• Achievement of sales budget/ targets
• Oversee the functions of Driver Sales people (DSP’s) and Truck Assistants
• To assist with internal and external audits.

Top Accountabilities

• To maximize Sales in order to achieve set budgets and targets for the depot
• To ensure product availability in the right quantities by brand and pack as dictated by the market demand always.
• Eliminate breakages and missing (fulls & empties) in the warehouse.
• To ensure effective stock control procedures are in place to avoid stock losses.
• To efficiently utilize human and physical resources under control to achieve set Depot Productivity Indicators.
• To ensure that operational procedures and documentation with regards stock movement, banking and daily returns are adhered to.
• Compilation of daily, weekly, monthly reports and ad hoc reports as required.
• To compile and monitor budget activities for the depot.
• Ensure that stock is sold in a FIFO basis and minimize and eliminate expiring of product.
• Supervise, train and mentor all subordinates under control.
• Ensuing that all stocks are captured in the system as per the agreed counted floor stocks.
• Supervising daily stock counts for the depot and ensures that the floor stock balances are balancing to the system stock balances for all stock keeping       units (SKUs)
• Responsible for all safety and health issues of the depot.
• Carry out any other duties as delegated by the Operations Manager.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications
• Grade 12
• Degree in Sales & Marketing/ commercial/finance related field or studying towards such a qualification
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office), knowledge of the SAP system a must.

Experience
• At least 2 – 3 years’ work experience in a FMCG environment
• Solid SAP4Hanna experience
• Working knowledge of manufacturing and commercial systems.
