Fleet Manager

Introduction

South Africa’s premier supplier of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Cleaning Chemicals, Paper Products, Industrial Consumable Supplies and Workwear is looking for a Fleet Manager to join their successful team.

The Fleet Manager is responsible for assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet, maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection, and scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency. Tracking vehicles and implementing strategies to cuts costs and maximize profits.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Daily management of dispatch staff, drivers, driver assistants, and fleet.
• Monitor open sales orders and backorders (daily review of backorder report) and notify relevant departments.
• Fleet management- fuel costs, services, general maintenance, staff overtime, deliveries, vehicle live tracking, and vehicle licensing.
• Daily updates and review of Tracking devices in the vehicles
• Investigate and resolve delivery queries.
• Management of Dispatch Vericon personnel – report deviations to management.
• Oversight of picks lip creation (both consolidated and manuals), checking, invoicing, backorder release function, credits processing and general administration.
• Recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet
• Managing drivers so they adhere to strict schedules.
• Registering and licensing all vehicles under their management.
• Finding ways to cut costs and maximize profits.
• Developing strategies for greater fuel efficiency.
• Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12
• Qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain/ Business Administration
• At least 3 years in a similar role
• Experience in the transport industry will be advantageous
• Trackmatic an advantage
• Must be a Fleet Manager
