General Manager

Introduction

A leading supplier of power tools and hardware to the retail, motor and industrial industries is looking for a General Manager to join their successful team.

Responsible for coordinating business operations, ensuring great and effective customer service and identifying business opportunities as well as monitoring the achievement of sales targets and profitability to meet our business objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee efficient daily business operations (Sales, Logistics, Workshop and Admin)
• Manage and build strong customer relations
• Create and manage budgets
• Improving revenue and GP margins
• Manage dispute resolution both internally and externally
• Manage productivity by driving productivity targets
• Growth and achievement of Sales & Profit Targets.
• Manage Human Resources and evaluating performance and productivity
• Research and identify growth opportunities
• Analyse accounting and financial data.
• Generate relevant management reports and board reports
• Build trust and confidence of Customer in the company, through reliable and consistent service
• Resolve complaints and queries effectively
• Determine and manage the Customer’s expectations regarding stock and delivery
• Manage head counts within agreed budgets
• Achieve Employment Equity targets
• Maintain effective leave planning and absenteeism management
• Facilitate training and development interventions
• Continuously communicate and provide constructive feedback and coaching to employees
• Take disciplinary action where required
• Develop expert product knowledge in the company range

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Minimum Matric
• Post matric qualification preferable – Business Management or commerce
• 8 to 10 years operational and sales management, preferably in the retail and industrial sector (hardware and tooling)

Package & Remuneration

R85K – R100K CTC Per Month + Cell Allow R1500 + Monthly Comm + Annual incentive
