Inbound Logistics Controller

Introduction

Large, well established airconditioner wholesaler and exporter is looking to employ an Inbound Logistics Controller.

The position will initially be based in Honeydew but will be moving to the offices in Northriding.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Track and expedite shipments from factories to retail customers in coordination with the imports team.
• Develop and nurture relationships with customer buyers and distribution centre operational staff.
• Assist in general logistics operations at our warehouse
• Expedite customer orders from our warehouse according to pre-determined/agreed customer expectations.
• Ensure thorough follow-through of shipments to completion.
• Generate comprehensive reports on service levels and implement corrective actions as needed, with a specific focus on retail logistics.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Background/Skillsets Required

• 5-10 years of experience in logistics/warehouses, with a strong focus on:
• Tracking and expediting shipments to retail customers.
• Developing relationships with customers and operational staff.
• Assisting in general logistics operations.
• Expediting customer orders and ensuring follow-through.
• Reporting on service levels and implementing corrective actions.
• Preferably experience in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
• Working knowledge of import processes, including shipment tracking, clearing process, and inland logistics.

• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.
• Capability to perform effectively in a high-stress environment.
• Dedication to service excellence and ability to work as part of a dedicated team.
• Willingness to go the extra mile to ensure optimal customer service.
• Must have own transport and a valid driver’s license.
