IR Coordinator

Introduction

A leading Industrial Services company is looking for an IR Coordinator to join their successful team in Elandsfontein.

Reporting to the IR Manager, the suitable candidate will be accountable to support Line Managers in the region in their management of Industrial Relations for the divisions in the specific region.  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage the Industrial Relations for the division.
• Building of constructive relationships between all stakeholders.
• Advise, consult, facilitate on IR structures and procedures for the day-to-day practical aspects of the IR function in the specific division.
• Manage the implementation and application of disciplinary and grievance procedures and policies.
• Implement and maintain a comprehensive IR administration system.
• Represent the company at the CCMA and therefore be conversant with all CCMA processes.
• Facilitate the implementation of regular meetings between management and organized labour.
• Facilitate and maintain a good working relationship with unions and union officials.
• Monitor internal labour relations trends and submit relevant reports.
• Conduct all company retrenchment consultation with representative Trade Unions.
• Meet with the Shop-floor Representatives on a bi-weekly basis.
• Set up manage and monitor the appropriate workplace consultative forums and structures.
• Assist in the development of the regions Equity skills plans

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in IR.
• Computer literate (MS Office).
• Good interpersonal, negotiation, analytical.
• Minimum of 5 years related experience.
• Familiar and conversant with labour related legislation Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, and The Skills Development Act.
• Must be in possession of a valid Driver’s Licence.
• Knowledge of the Metal Industries Main Agreement
