Introduction
Our client is the largest manufacturer of unsaturated polyester resins in Africa and a leader in the development and supply of innovative test technology for composites and allied industries.
The company manufactures and supplies a complete range of high-quality resins, ancillary products and accessories, and processing equipment suitable for all fabricating methods.
Looking for a Reporting Accountant (CA (SA) – Recently Qualified) to join their successful team.
Ensure that management information is timeously and accurately reported, and relevant analysis is completed for management review. Ensure that all taxation is correctly calculated and reported monthly and submitted – both provisional tax and annual tax.
Ensure that AFS is prepared in accordance with IFRS and completed timeously.
Responsible for company secretarial requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Monthly reporting
- Ensure all trial balances are correctly mapped in all reporting modules
- Report monthly Flash with comments.
- Prepare quarterly reporting.
- Prepare Board templates and any company presentations.
- Update full-year forecast for any Group or Shareholder reporting.
- Ensure all schedules are updated and reconciled monthly.
- Prepare monthly Consolidated of KZN Operations
Inter-Company
- Maintain the monthly intercompany matrix ensuring both month-end balances and transactions are agreed and reconciled.
Taxation
- Prepare all provisional tax returns for all entities. Ensure all tax schedules are kept updated by each month’s end.
- Ensure correct Wear & Tear rates are used in the tax asset register, reviewing monthly for additions.
- Ensure the Tax Asset Register reconciles with the Fixed Assets Register.
- Update the deferred tax calculation on a monthly basis.
- Prepare the annual tax returns for submission & once reviewed, submit them on eFiling.
- Monitor all SARS correspondence and ensure appropriate responses are submitted on time.
- Ensure compliance with tax legislation.
Annual Reporting
- Prepare the year-end pack.
- Prepare analysis and working schedules for the year-end pack and explain the major variances from year to year and to budget.
- Prepare the AFS for all legal entities.
Statutory Matters
- Keep all legal entities’ minute books and statutory details updated.
- Submit all required returns to CIPC.
- Complete and submit all required statutory returns.
- Ensure AGM notices are sent out timeously and that minutes are updated and signed.
Legal Matters
- Must remain updated on the Companies Act and ensure compliance.

- The role will require extra hours over specific periods of the year, including but not limited to month-end, year-end, budgets, and various ad hoc exercises as required.
Computer Literacy
- Ability to learn and master various software packages
- Will need to become an expert in Sage X3 & SDA
- Excellent skills in Excel are a requirement / must-have ability to become proficient
- Proficiency in MSWord, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and any other BI tools will be a requirement of the role

- Uses appropriate media and develops clear messages in an interesting format for the target audience.
