Shift Supervisor – Isipingo

Introduction

The company manufactures and supplies a complete range of high-quality resins, ancillary products and accessories, and processing equipment suitable for all fabricating methods.

Duties & Responsibilities

Description of key performance areas:

Reporting to The Production Manager

1. Maximise efficiency of plant operations:

• Trouble-shoot and identify process needs to maintain production levels.
• Maintain production quality standards.
• Analyse and implement process flow improvements, to include capabilities for growth.
• Ensure plant is handed over to next shift in a suitable state.  Ensure all breakdowns/maintenance requirements are completed by Engineering. Ensure shift log is completed accurately.

2. Environmental Health and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all OHS regulations.
• Maintain and control effluent system.
• Issue of work permits.

3. Production operating standards:

• Develop and update all operations procedures.

4. Production Staff:

• Manage the employment and training of production staff.
• Manage work allocation and problem resolution.
• Evaluate employee performance and motivate to achieve peak productivity.

5. Stock Counts:

• Assist in stock counts where required.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications: 

• Matric and National Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of proven management experience in an operating processing plant environment, ideally chemical processing.
